Our Research Policy & Fees

In addition to the many books, documents, maps, microfilm, etc. available to visitors at our Research Center, we also have computerized databases, information, and pictures available for researching material. For our society members or a visitor to the Lee County Historical Society Research Center, we offer assistance in obtaining your needed information.

Requests by postal mail - For non-members an initial fee of $15.00 must acccompany your request by postal mail and include the following information: Name, address, city, state, zipcode, phone number and/or email address and as much detailed information as you have. Please give complete names, dates and possible locations which will help us to not overlook anything.

We will search our many databases for information relative to your request utilizing our extensive records collection, which now includes over 641,000 pieces of information. We can then send you by email (if address is provided) that information which is found. If you need actual copies of documents those can be shipped to you.

If you are requesting only a copy of a document and provide us the information needed, we will send you a photocopy at a charge of $1.50 which includes postage.

Remember that on occasion a search will turn up nothing. Your initial fee is not refunded.
