Research Center

Since opening our doors on September 1, 1995, the Lee County Historical Society has made great strides in obtaining and updating various aspects of historical information. Included in our collection are complete burial records for all cemeteries in Lee County in excess of 47,000 names, census records from 1820-1920, a complete set of microfilm of the Dixon Telegraph from 1851 to the present, land records / plat books, county history books, early settler information, church records, and much more.

Our center is located at 113 Madison Avenue in Dixon, Illinois. We are open for visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to Noon with other hours by appointment. We urge out of town researchers to call ahead or Email and make an appointment so that we can make sure to have enough staff on hand to provide assistance to you so as to make the most of your visit.
